Dogs Trust Canine Care Card – a free service for dog owners
For people who don’t have friends or relatives who could take care of their dog if they no longer can, Dogs Trust can help. In the event of the owner’s death, life changing diagnosis, or move to a care home, we promise to look after their dog indefinitely, providing them with all the care they need until we can find a responsible, loving new home for them. This is often of great concern to the elderly as their dog may be their only friend and companion – Dogs Trust can give them peace of mind, knowing that their canine companion’s future is safe, should the worst happen to them.
Every year we love and care for over 13,000 dogs at our nationwide network of rehoming centres. And we never put down a healthy dog.
The other service offers adult community groups the opportunity to have a talk about Dogs Trust and its work, as well as the chance to meet a four-legged resident. This is also a free service which is popular amongst groups such as Womens’ Institute, Rotary clubs, U3A, Probus, and retired friendship groups.
